The Medical Center Board of Trustees voted in January to notify the Board of Supervisors that they will have to close Fairmont's Skilled Nursing Facility because of the Medical Center's budget deficit, unless additional funding is identified. Hearings in front of the Board of Supervisors on the health impacts of the closure will be scheduled in the near future. Other services at Fairmont including Neuro-Respiratory, Rehabilitation, Senior Meal Program, Pharmacy and clinics are also at risk because of the Medical Center's budget deficit.
We Can Save These Services. Our community needs these programs. Demand that the Board of
Supervisors and the Alameda Alliance for Health provide funding to
save Fairmont.
