I am opposed to the closing of the Neuro-Respiratory Services Unit at Fairmont Hospital; I believe that the County is and should continue to be responsible for providing care for this vulnerable population. In addition, it is crucial that the County maintain and upgrade the Fairmont facility and continue all of the services currently being offered there.
 
The $7.3 million projected 2001 deficit for the ACMC must be closed through additional funding, not cuts in services. The County, with its "mission to ensure the optimal health and well-being of all people," must continue to see itself as responsible to financially support the ACMC's mission, "to maintain and improve the health of all County residents, regardless of ability to pay." Please let me know your position on this matter.
